  Who We Are

HOW WE ARE FUNDED

The funding of LCHIP's administrative budget
We receive $6 from each sale of the conservation license plate (Moose Plate). Our administration is paid for with the license plate funds (60%) and from interest earned on our Trust Fund (40%). No State funds appropriated to the Program are used for administration. Fully staffed, LCHIP employs 4 full-time people. As part of its RSA, the Program is required to submit an annual report to the Governor and Executive Council as well as an annual report to the Conservation License Plate committee. The Program also receives an independent audit annually.

The funding of LCHIP's grants
LCHIP’s ability to make grants comes from a small fee charged on four documents recorded at the county registrar office: Deeds, Mortgages, Mortgage Discharges, and Plans. This fee is paid to the Registry of Deeds at the time documents are recorded just like other recording fees. These small fees build in the New Hampshire State Treasury to allow LCHIP to continue the work of protecting your New Hampshire experience.
