Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) - Awards monies to local landowners under the federal USDA EQIP Program. Natural Resource Conservation Services (NRCS) can provide technical, financial and educational assistance to address locally prioritized conservation concerns. Eligibility is limited to persons who are engaged in livestock, forest products or agricultural production. Cost sharing is available for certain practices.

Environmental Support Center (ESC) - Funding for an organization to hire a consultant to work on organizational development needs or to attend a training session on a particular topic.

Farm Aid - The mission of Farm Aid is to keep family farmers on their land. Grants are awarded in the following general categories: farm resources, including hotlines, training, and assistance programs for family farms; farm action, such as educational campaigns and outreach regarding the benefits of family farm produced foods; food systems, including creating new markets for family farm produced food; and farm policy at the state, regional and national level to create a family farm focused food system. Nonprofit organizations throughout the U.S. are eligible to apply.

Farm and Ranch Lands Protection Program (FRPP, formerly referred to as Farmland Protection Program) - Call your state NRCS office and let them know that your organization wants to be involved in this year's FRPP plan. Hart Family Funds for Small Towns - In Bill Hart's honor, our Trustees, Advisors and friends pledged a total of $250,000 which will be matched by Bill and his family for a fund that will eventually total at least $500,000. The purpose of the Hart Family Fund for Small Towns is to assist small town preservation and revitalization initiatives around the country, with a focus on towns with populations of 5,000 or less. The Fund will operate within the framework of Preservation Services Fund grants - same application, same eligibility requirements, same match requirements, same deadlines. The first grant round for the Hart Family Fund will be February 1, 2005. Rural
Business Enterprise Grant - Applications are now being accepted from
communities and non-profit organizations for the Vermont and New Hampshire 2005
Rural Business Enterprise Grant program. Funded activities must provide
technical assistance, revolving loan funds or a facility (owned and operated by
the
applicant) that will benefit a small business or businesses (less than 50
employees and less than $1 million in gross profit). Grants may be made only
when there is a reasonable prospect that they will result in the start up or

Tourism Cares for Tomorrow - As part of its mission, Tourism Cares for Tomorrow distributes charitable grants to worthy tourism-related nonprofit organizations worldwide for conservation or preservation of exceptional cultural, historic, or natural sites. Historically, typical grants have ranged between $10,000 and $20,000 and have been considered for either capital improvements or appropriate educational programs. Grant recipients must be classified as non-profit and tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code or, in the case of non-U.S. organizations, must function as the equivalent. Transportation Enhancement Act Program - Project categories include: facilities for bicyclists and pedestrians; safety and educational activities for bicyclists and pedestrians; acquisition of scenic easements and scenic or historic sites; scenic or historic highway programs; landscaping and other scenic beautification; historic preservation; rehabilitation and operation of historic transportation buildings, structures or facilities; preservation of abandoned railway corridors; control and removal of outdoor advertising; archaeological planning and research; environmental mitigation to address water pollution due to highways or vehicles; and establishing transportation museums.
